Explanation-Erosion

Erosion is the process where rocks and soil is moved from one place to another.
Wind, rain, livestock and speedboats all cause erosion.
Wind moves topsoil and transfers it to other areas. Rain washes soil downhill on slopes. Livestock kills vegetation and the soil cannot be held. Speedboats cause waves which causes landslides.
We can plough right away, rotate stock and plant trees to prevent erosion.

The Nikau Caves
On Tuesday the 2nd of September, our class went to Nikau caves. We left school at 8 clock and travelled in the school vans. The trip there was long and very boring so we started playing, I SPY. The most exciting part of the trip was seeing the fat, funny, free roaming turkeys on the side of the road.
By the time we got there, we were starving, so we had morning tea which was two scrumptious cookies and juicy apples and oranges. After our morning tea we all split up into our classes and my class went for a bush walk. It was fun, full of steep hills with stairs and one huge swing bridge.
After our bush walk it was time for lunch and room 4 had not arrived back yet. So while we waited we chucked the rugby ball around and I ate my creamy, delicious, egg sandwiches. Finally room 4 came back and now it was our turn to go on an adventure in the caves, it was cold, dark and cool. There were stalagmites and stalactites everywhere I looked, I saw glow warms that were bright, shiny and they made me feel happy. During the walk we had to get down on our hands and knees and army crawl threw the crawling spot, the floor of the caves was full of water it made me shiver and my clothes got soaked. At the end of the caves we saw some spider webs which were stunning.
Leaving the caves, we headed back to the vans and on way we stopped at McDonalds for ice cream. It was an excellent day and I enjoyed it.

SAVE THE RAINFOREST RAP
Save the rainforest it’s time to take action.
We trying to heal the world like Michael Jackson.
Logging can beat it, cutting down trees.
Is something that needs to be defeated.
Endangered species equals extinction.
We need to give these animals more protection.
They’re hunted for their feathers skin and fur.
Tell me would you like it if we used your hurr.
To make our clothes, sell your bones for gold.
Or drove a bulldozer threw the middle of your home.
Chainsaws shredding everything that you own.
Chico Mendes that’s who I wanna grow..... up to be like
Hold up....
Let me kick some knowledge
Chico Mendes was guard of the rainforest..
Fought to save trees from the horror of loggers.
Got shot cause he stopped, stopped, stopped their process.
So don’t take everything we have for granted
Could be here today and gone tomorrow.
Could be here today and gone tomorrow.

Manukau Beautification

Yesterday we went to clean graffiti up under a bridge in Pakuranga.

Before we went Barbara and some police talked to us about graffiti.

The painting was so much fun for everyone that Bo and I were singing and dancing to entertain everyone.

Today I still have paint in my hair.
